Dear Patients,

We are delighted to announce the practice has reopened in a limited capacity. As a first step, we will be seeing patients for emergency treatments only.

Should you have encountered a dental emergency over the lockdown period and were in touch with the practice, we will contact you to arrange an appointment as soon as possible. Should you currently find yourself in pain and feel in urgent need of dental treatment, please contact the practice and we will do whatever we can to ease your discomfort.

Currently no Saturday appointments are available while we are phasing our return to practice.

AT THIS STAGE, PLEASE DO NOT CALL TO BOOK ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS. We will let you know as soon as we are able to restart regular dentistry.

Over the course of lockdown, we have worked hard to ensure that your dental practice is a safe environment, complying with government regulations regarding social distancing and infection control.

We anticipate returning to routine dentistry in the near future and will let all our patients know as soon as we are able to do so.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, you will notice significant changes to the way we operate, this is to ensure the safety of our staff and patients.

Below is a list of the new arrangements we will have in place:

  • Prior to scheduling an appointment, we will conduct a telephone triage with you. This will involve a member of staff phoning you to ask details of your dental problem, to establish the level of need. You will also be asked medical questions relating to symptoms of Covid-19.
  • Please do not turn up at the practice without an appointment as the doors will be kept closed.
  • We will email you an updated medical history form along with a consent form to complete at home and email back if possible. If you do not have this facility, the forms can be completed at your appointment, however please bring your own pen.
  • Please attend your appointment on time and not too early. Should we need to delay your appointment we will ring you and ask you to wait in your car.
  • Unless there are exceptional circumstances (e.g. a carer or another person is required) please attend on your own.
  • Upon entry we will ask you to use an antiseptic hand rub. This will be repeated after your appointment.
  • We will take your temperature with a no-contact thermometer.
  • Please maintain social distancing whilst in reception, the waiting room and on your way to the surgery.
  • If you wish or are categorised as vulnerable, please wear a mask or facial covering to the appointment.
  • Card payment only. Payment will be taken over the phone on the day before the appointment, you will be advised of the fees during the triage calls when you book your appointment.
  • Toilets will be out of use.
  • Please ensure you have cleaned your teeth well before attending.
  • You may be asked to wear gloves during the visit.
  • Our staff will be wearing a mixture of the usual PPE and special in-surgery PPE, should your treatment require it. Please rest assured we will be following the latest Public Health England guidance to ensure the safety of all.
  • Treatment options may be limited.
  • Social distancing guidelines are being observed.
  • There will be limited interaction on site so time at reception must be kept to a minimum.
  • Please attend alone where possible.
  • Currently no Saturday appointments are available while we are phasing our return to practice.
  • Please complete all paperwork in advance of your appointment where possible, this will include an updated medical history form.
  • All Pre-booked appointments from 20th July will be honoured so please attend unless advised otherwise.
  • Payment for treatment may be taken the day before via telephone and will include a Covid-19 surcharge of up to £28 for each appointment, which contributes toward the additional costs incurred due to the increased safety measures we are observing. We hope that this will be a temporary charge and means we have not had to raise our clinical fees.
  • Please limit calls to the practice as we will contact you to arrange an appointment.
  • Please bear with us during these difficult times, we apologise for any inconvenience while we are trying to ensure we maintain safety for all our patients and staff.

Please call us to cancel your appointment if you feel unwell or have been contacted by the NHS ‘Track & Trace’ team, or if you have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of C-19.
